Glamorganshire Putter
Matchplay Singles competition.
First played for in 1924. Presented by Arthur M. Ingledew and Thomas M. Barlow. The Putter was used on the opening day of The Glamorganshire Golf Club. There was some confusion at the time as to whether one drove or putted with it!
A.M. Ingledew arranged a case for The Putter. Both have been lost, likely in the 70s, last presented (and documented) to Peter Owen-Lloyd in 1974. They have both been replaced by substitutes, bought at auction by Michael Chugg. The case has a brass plaque formerly screwed onto it, engraved with winners since 2010.
Up until the 2000s the trophies were distributed to the respective winners and taken home for 12 months. They are now retained in a trophy cabinet in The RPGC Card Room.
